BMW Maintenance Program

In a bulletin issued to dealerships yesterday, BMW of North America announced changes to its No Cost Schedule Maintenance program.

Beginning with MY 2017, all new BMW vehicles will come with 3-year, 36, 000 mile, No Cost Scheduled Maintenance. As it is with the current program this coverage is non-transferable.

Until now, every new BMW included maintenance for 4 years or 50, 000 miles.

Furthermore, the new program will no longer includes brake pads, brake rotors, wiper blades, engine belts or manual transmission clutches.

In March of 2016, BMW will start offering new maintenance program upgrades (MPU). These MPUs will be sold by the dealership and will further enhance and extended maintenance coverage.

BMW first included scheduled maintenance on the flagship V12-powered 750iL Sedan and 850Ci Coupe beginning with the 1993 model year. It expanded that coverage to Full Maintenance for the 1997 model year. Also that year, all other models were covered by a 3-year or 36, 000 mile Scheduled Maintenance plan. For the 2000 model year, the scheduled maintenance plan was expanded to Full Maintenance including wear items such as brake pads, brake rotors and wiper blade inserts.
