Industrial Controls and Instrumentation Certificate (ICIC)

A 25-week, 184-hour evening program designed by ISA certified controls experts, and is designed for individuals with some electrical maintenance experience seeking advancement as an industrial controls technician. Students gain working knowledge and hands-on troubleshooting experience in electrical controls, sensors, variable frequency drives, DMCS systems, controller tuning, and calibrations. Extensive hands-on training is provided in the industrial controls labs and in the operational process pilot plant. Students receive preparation for the ISA Certified Control Systems Technician exam.

Industrial Electrical Maintenance Certificate (IEMC)

A seven-month evening program designed by professionals in the field to provide the knowledge and hands-on experience necessary to work as an entry-level electrical maintenance technician with local industrial companies. Classes are designed for the hands-on learner. Extensive labs allow students the opportunity to practice their learning and skills on industrial applications and processes. All learning and skills lead to proficiency in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of industrial electrical systems. Used by several local companies for their apprentice training.

Machine Operator

Machine Operator training provides foundational training on machine safety, measurement and blueprint reading, manual milling and turning, an overview of CNC (with a project) and statistical process control. The program prepares students for the NIMS certification through the use of both computer simulation and hands-on training.
The the program is approximately 210 hours of instruction and includes the fabrication of several metal parts. Call (513) 569-4945

Basic Machining for the Machine Shop

Basic Machining for the Machine Shop is a hands on course designed to train maintenance personnel to machine parts from drawings using manual lathes, mills and surface grinders. This course is offered to companies or groups on a contract basis. Call (513) 569-1497 for details.

Machine Maintenance Certificate (MMC)

Designed for people with some mechanical maintenance experience who seek advancement in the maintenance field. Provides the knowledge and hands-on experience necessary to install, maintain, and troubleshoot many mechanical and hydraulic systems. Classes are designed for the hands-on learner. Extensive labs allow students the opportunity to practice their learning and skills on industrial applications and processes.

Programmable Logic Controllers Certificate (PLCC)

A 13-week, 106-hour evening program designed for individuals who will install, program, maintain, or troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controllers in an industrial setting.  Students gain working knowledge of electrical ladder logics, the basis of PLC programming. Students learn the fundamentals of PLCs including processor configuration, I/O wiring, digital & analog concepts, along with PLC program instructions. The advanced PLC class provides students with advanced programming instructions, remote I/O, introduction to Allen Bradley Device Net, and advanced troubleshooting. Focuses on the Allen Bradley PLC-5 and SLC-500 PLCs and RSLogic programming.

Rockwell Training

WDC offers specialized training classes for experienced maintenance workers who want to learn to install, maintain, and troubleshoot existing or upgraded Rockwell Automation equipment. WDC and Rockwell Automation’s aligned workforce training goals to enable the delivery of award-winning training in an accessible environment. The partnership combines the expansive industrial course offerings of Cincinnati State with Rockwell Automation leading-edge technology and industrial product training.

Photovoltaic Systems

An overview of solar photovoltaic systems for individuals who what to work toward becoming a certified Solar PV system installer. Students will gain technical skills and a strong foundation of how to design and safely install solar-electric systems. Topics include PV applications, solar electric fundamentals, system components, sizing systems, system designs, performance analysis and troubleshooting, and hands-on system installation.
Students who successfully completing this course are qualified to sit for NABCEP PV Entry Level Certificate of Knowledge exam.

Solar PV Installations Project

This is a continuation of photovoltaic systems course where students will size, design, specify, install and commission a 10 KW Solar PV system. This training installation may apply toward one PV installation project for individuals seeking NABCEP PV Installer certification.
